Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks

I'm not going to lie the first time i saw Kat Von D Makeup it scared me a little bit, it did not look like the sort of make up i would use and i naively based this on the packaging. I mean how wrong could i be. As i've tried more from the brand the products are actually some of my favourites and the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita could possibly be my favourite liquid lipstick. When trying new liquid lipsticks this one has set the bar and it is the one that i compare all others to, that's how much i love it. Kat Von D makeup started in 2008 as a collaboration with Sephora and it has grown massively since. I love that you can really see Kat and her vision within every single product, it is very authentic. The products are not tested on animals and she has a thing called #Veganalert on her website so you can see all of the products which are vegan friendly which is a great idea, why not highlight that she is doing something go within the beauty community.

Kat Von D was launched in the UK as an exclusive to Debenhams back in October last year and it meant that i could use my Lolita Liquid Lipstick more often as before i had been scared of it running out. However since it has been in the UK i actually haven't bought anything new. I never shop online with Debenhams and there isn't a counter in my local store so i would have to make an order just for Kat Von D products which has made me reluctant to buy it. When i was doing my Birthday Sephora haul back in February i instantly looked at Kat Von D to see what i could add to my beauty collection. I had always meant to buy more but i had just never got around to it.

On Sephora they have just launched some more nude shades so obviously i had a look. There were two shades which really caught my attention but i was only going to allow myself to buy one; Sanctuary or Ludwig. The first shade which grabbed my attention was Sanctuary described as a Nude Coffee shade i thought it would be like Lolita but more cool toned. I had seen a few swatches of this and thought it looked amazing but on a more deeper skin tone. Then when i was looking at swatches online i saw people wearing Ludwig and it looked lovely, a light nude with warmer tones but not too warm/orange. It is described as a nude fawn shade which sums it up. I ended up being a little bit scared of Sanctuary making me look dead so i settled for the safer option and went for Ludwig. Plus it reminded me of Hedwig from Harry Potter for some unknown reason so that sold it to me.

The formula of these liquid lipsticks is incredibe, they are quite liquid rather than a cream but they have an amazing pigmentation so they aren't patchy. It dries down so it is completely matte but it doesn't feel overly drying on the lips and they don't feel sticky nor cakey. They contain natural moisturisers: Vitamin E and Sunflower Seed Wax which stops them from taking out every ounce of moisture from your lips. They are very long lasting but i think Lolita lasts sightly better than Ludwig, i'm not sure why but Ludwig doesn't seem to be able to handle any form of food or drink so that is something to bare in mind. They do seem a little different in terms of longevity which does disappoint me slightly.

However this does not stop them from being one of the best liquid lipstick formulas ever and i still have my eye on Sanctuary and Bow and Arrow. I've heard rumors that the new shades which have been on Sephora for a while will be coming to the UK in the not too distant future so i will be keeping my eye out for those as i have a £5 Debenhams voucher on my Beauty Club Card that needs spending.

Lolita and Ludwig
If i could only have one liquid lipstick in my collection i would say that i would go for Lolita it truly is one of my favourites. The way it applies and the shade is just perfect for me, I think everyone should have at least one Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in there collection because they are some of the best and Lolita should be it. Ludwig is beautiful but for me Lolita still takes the biscuit. Debenhams have done us beauty lovers in the UK a massive favour by bring Kat Von D beauty over here because the products i have tried are amazing and i look forward to trying more.

Just to give you a heads up the Alchemist Holographic Palette is launching on May 2nd and i know i have my eye on it for sure. As you know everything is about highlight at the moment and i feel like that is very unusual and something a little bit different. I don't know when the new shades of the liquid lipsticks are out but they are worth keeping your eye out for.
