Top 5 Nude Lipsticks

Now that we are in the middle of Winter and the UK is currently bracing itself from the rain, wind and generally freezing cold weather, most of us end up looking forward to warmer weather. We haven't quite made it to Spring yet and it feels like it is going to be a long way off. This leaves me with a little bit of a problem, i've been left in a lipstick limbo. Its not the time of year for a red lip but also i am not ready to start using more peachy shimmery shades that i like during Spring. To combat this i have been loving nude lipsticks and pretty much wear one everyday. Plus you can never go wrong with a nude lip! I'm pretty sure i have spoken about all of these lipsticks before however i thought i would dedicate a whole post to my love of going nude.

1. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

After i bought this lipstick in America last year, it has fast become one of my favourite lipsticks. At first i didn't want to use it too much as it wasn't available in the UK so when i learnt Kat Von D was coming to Debenhams at the end of last year i was ecstatic. Lolita is one of the more popular shades from Kat Von D and when i first swatched it i thought it wasn't going to suit me but whenever i wear it i get compliments. It is a deep nude with a rose undertone and luckily for me looks amazing on pale skin.

For a liquid lipstick this isn't as drying as some of the others i have tried. Of course it is slightly drying or it wouldn't set in place but it is nothing that a little prep can't fix. Once applied this dries down very quickly and it doesn't feel like you have anything on your lips. I am a massive fan of these lipsticks and i look forward to buying a few more in the future.

2. MAC Velvet Teddy

Velvet Teddy was the lipstick that started my nude obsession and i think it probably did for most people after all it was the shade the Kylie Jenner said that she used before she made her lip kits. There was a time when you would struggle to find this lipstick in any MAC store as it was so popular but the hype has died down a little now. The shade of this lipstick just embodies the nude trend for me and it gave me the confidence to rock a nude lip. MAC defines it as a deep-toned beige which is what it is. Once again this is a matte formula but it is slightly more creamy than the Kat Von D lipstick, it does transfer just because it doesn't set as much but if you were looking for your first nude lipstick look no further.

3. Anatasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Stripped

Compared to the Kat Von D lipstick i will tell you now that it is quite drying. It sets completely matte like the Kat Von D one but in doing so it does suck any moisture you once had out your lips. However even though it is drying once again if your lips are fully prepped for it, it isn't so bad! This shade is similar to MAC Velvet Teddy but it is just a different formula, this shade is a neutral beige which makes it a little bit lighter than Velvet Teddy but not less wearable. I've included this one more for the shade than the formula as i am willing to admit that i prefer the Kat Von D formula but this still makes it into my top 5 as i wear it all the time, dry lips be damned.

4.Tom Ford Spanish Pink

This couldn't be a post on my blog without including my favourite lipstick brand of all time, Tom Ford. In my opinion Tom Ford can do no wrong with their lipsticks, the shades they create are truly stunning and the feeling you get when you use them, for me, is similar to a day that you manage to wear matching underwear, i feel empowered and like i have my life together. I've got to say i prefer the size of the Lips and Boys as they are a little bit smaller and fit in every handbag you own, even that tiny one which only really fits your phone. I still haven't found a lipstick in the range which matches my favourite shade from the full size collection which is Spanish Pink. I bought this towards the end of 2016 but i have been loving it ever since. At £39 i only wear it for special occasions but i love it none the less. This lipstick is reserved for the days that it starts to feel more like Spring as it is almost a light coral shade with a peach/pink hint to it. Additionally it is a cremesheen finish rather than matte but i love the way that it gives you a more fuller look due to the shimmer.

5. MAC Liptensity in Smoked Almond

I spoke about this lipstick not too long ago in a post but ever since writing that post i have reignited my love for this lipstick and the shade of it. These are a satin finish but once again they give a glossiness to the lips that makes them look bolder and fuller. The pigmentation of these lipsticks is incredible and gives the colour of a matte but the gloss of a satin.  Even though i don't usually like a glossy finish there is something about the colour depth of the shades that really give these lipsticks an amazing finish. The shade Smoked Almond does remind me of the Kat Von D lipstick but this one is a bit lighter and definitely has more of a rose tone to it. Once again at the moment this has to be one of my favourite lipsticks and i have been wearing it with so many different make up looks as it pretty much goes with everything.

That's my round up of my favourite nude lipsticks, if you think there is anything missing from this list or a nude that you think i should try let me know in the comments or message me on twitter @SophaaRambles
