Haul: MAC & Tom Ford

As of late i have been on a make up spending ban! It has been made clear to me by friends and family that i have a problem so i have been trying to improve. I thought i would introduce myself to spending less by putting myself on a make up ban because i own way too much for someone who just uses it on their own face. However after a month of buying no new make up i decided it was time to treat myself to two products i have had my eye on for a long time!

The two products i had my eye on were the MAC Nine Time Eye Shadow Palette in Amber and the Tom Ford Lipstick in the shade Spanish Pink. A few months ago i completed my MAC palette which was an achievement in itself but i have been using it religiously ever since so i wanted something that would change my eye look a little bit. This palette is very popular on instagram and i always see them and want them. Nothing can prepare you for how small the pans are. The palette itself is the same size as the quad palettes but you get 9 shadows in it which makes them much smaller.

If you travel a lot this is an amazing palette as it covers most looks and it is really small. Once again MAC have recently lowered the price of these palettes which to be honest is a good thing as they are rather small and for the original price you would have been better off just buying a quad. I know the quality of MAC eye shadows are good but these to feel slightly different from the others i have used. To me these are slightly less buttery and a bit more chalky which is disappointing, even if these are smaller pans you want them to reflect the normal eye shadows. I do like this and i have been using it however as i said buy a quad and pick the shades rather than one of these.

Recently i was very kindly given a Tom Ford lipstick as my leaving present and i really love it however it is a shade that i now cannot wear everyday as it doesn't fit in with my new job. I have been super impressed when i have used it and as you know for my post last week i also love the Lips and Boys lipstick so after much consideration i decided it was time to treat myself to a full size. Spanish Pink reminds me of the shades i used to wear when i first got into make up which was very pale pink lipsticks like MAC's Creme Cup and Peach Blossom  however the more i have learnt about what suits me the more i have come to realise it isn't pale cool toned pink shades. Spanish pink is definitely pink but it has a warmer undertone to it so it suits me more, it is a  very wearable everyday shade and the formula is reminiscent of MAC's Cremesheen but even more buttery and with better lasting power. At £39 this wasn't cheap however i do really love it.

Is there anything that you have had on your wishlist for a while?
