Kat Von D in the UK!

Kat Von D is a beauty brand that as someone who lives in the UK i hear a lot about but i do not have much experience with the products as it was only available in America. When i went on holiday to California in the summer i managed to pick up a few items from Sephora but now you don't have to go to such extreme lengths to get a hold of the brand as it is now available online on Debenhams. This is super exciting and i have my eye on a few products but i'm definitely going to have to wait until payday. However i thought i would go through the items i bought whilst i was in America and my experience with them.

Lets start off with the item i am most excited about, it was something i knew i wanted when i found out i was going to America and it is the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita. This lipstick has been raved about by sooo many bloggers and at the moment, like everyone else, i have been going through a nude matte lip phase so i wanted to try it for myself. The shade itself is a lot darker on me than it appears in a lot of Youtube videos i have seen it in, i imagined it to be a lighter nude when i actual fact it is a deep taupe brown with a rose undertone. It really is a beautiful colour and would suit anyone who is pale like me. (i'm a natural redhead) The wear time is amazing on this lipstick, i can put it on at the start of the day and only need to top it up at lunchtime and then i'm good for the rest of day. The second application can apply slightly strange and can feel more sticky on the lips however when you first apply it, it is very lightweight and you can barely feel anything on the lips. The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are definitely something i am going to invest in and get a few more shades of it, i especially have my eye on the shade Bow and Arrow which i saw in Sephora, I didn't pick it up and I've regretted it ever since. In Sephora they were $20 and in the UK they are £16, with the crappy exchange rate we have in the UK it isn't a massive difference.

The other product i bought i have mixed views on and it is the Shade and Light Contour Palette. Now by no means am i a contouring pro, in fact i am definitely a noob, and i have no idea what i am doing. However before i went to America i decided i was either going to get this palette or the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I went for the Kat Von D one as i knew you could get it in the UK (at the time) I don't know why but i thought a good kit would help me out but it has just confused me more. I have used it quite a bit since i bought it, i use the shade Sombre which is the bottom left shade for my contour, it is a good shade for someone quite pale like me, it has a slight grey tone so it looks like a shadow as usually contours look like bronzer on me. Although I do mix in a bit of the middle contour colour Shadowplay so i don't look dead. I use the lightest highlight shade called Lucid to highlight the tops of my cheeks but also underneath my contour just to tidy it up a bit and to make the contour stand out a little bit more. The middle banana shade Lyric, i use to set my under eyes as i do get dark circles and it is good to counteract this. The other two shades are wasted on me as i am too pale to use them so they just sit there. I paid $45 for this and it is £36 in the UK so once again a pretty even conversion. I am happy i bought this, the product itself is really nice but for me it is just a little bit too complex, i definitely prefer something a little easier with less products in it. For that reason i have now moved onto a new contour product which i will tell you about in a post sometime soon.

The whole point of this post was to tell you about Kat Von D and also to make you aware that it is now available in the UK which is super exciting so if you have had your eye on anything you can now get it more easily. As i said i have my eye on the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow and Arrow but also i wouldn't mind getting the brush that goes along with the contour palette but i'm sure even that can't make me good at contouring.

Is there anything you have your eye on from Kat Von D?
